Amal Clooney
Amal Clooney was born Amal Ramzi Alamuddin. She is an English-Lebanese barrister, human rights activist and philanthropist. An alumni of Oxford University and New York University School of Law her lengthy and successful career in the fields of human rights and international law have won her international acclaim. Some of her most prominent clients include numerous nation states, including the state of Armenia in its fight to be recognized as Armenia's participation in the Armenian Genocide by the Turkish government. Amal Clooney got engaged to American actor George Clooney to marry him in 2014, and instantly became an iconic name in pop media. Prior to this she was respected and well-known in legal circles for her achievements in defending clients. From tackling human and social rights, to representing several multi-national corporations in court proceedings and negotiations concerning the regulations of government. Since 2015, she is an attorney, a type of legal representative within British court at the London-based Doughty Street Chambers.
